The temperature got to at least 27c today, and it killed the fishing. At about 4 pm I got a screaming run on a fruity boilie on the ledger, and it took me nearly an hour to get it in. A young lad was watching, and never stopped talking, rubbish mainly. He told me that the small lake here at Marsh Farm has been emptied and all the big fish put into the big lake, because they are losing so many fish to the otters.
This bit might actually be true. The small lake is clear and quiet looking. If carp are not feeding in there then the water will be clearer. I really hope the otters do not destroy this place, as it the best fishing lake I have ever been to. When I finally got the carp in after a spectacular struggle, I was proved correct - it was foul hooked. Still, I was very pleased with this 10 pounder.
Next week camping here, so should have lots to put in the diary, hopefully some massive carp.
