I decided to try Bake Lakes at long last. First impressions were mixed. It is a bit run down and scruffy in places, but the lake I fished on was called Treasure Island, and it had beautiful lily pads and reeds.

Gloomy Day At Milemead Fishery

Like the whole of this summer the day was gloomy, damp, humid and pretty warm. Things started off badly, with both bite alarms not working, and the lake was so full I had no choice of swim. But things gradually got better towards the evening.

Depressing Day At Neglected Hatchlands Fishery

I really thought I had found a good place to go fishing, that was just down the road. It looked OK on the internet, but when I got there I nearly turned around and went back home again. Almost one whole side of the lake was an overgrown wasteland, the water level was low, and the swims untidy.

I have been avoiding going out this summer for obvious reasons, but I recently figured out that going fishing is one of the safer things to do at the moment. It has social distancing baked into it by default. I really am at a loss where to go fishing though, so I tried M and B Fishery again, but didn't really enjoy my trip.
